My new office
I bought my first house in January! Since then, it's been an ongoing project to get every room decorated and furnished. The office, where I spend a lot of time working and playing games, was my responsibility. Here are a few photos of the progress so far!
It was originally used as a sun room, but has had the far wall built back up to look and and feel more like just another room of the house. The windows and skylight make it one of the brightest spots, and a bit of sunlight makes it beautifully warm. On a warm day, it's lovely to be able to open the door and step outside for some air. The room itself is also nicely positioned on the ground floor, not far from the kitchen or living room, so I don't feel too secluded if I need to work late. That alone feels like such an upgrade to working from a spare bedroom in my old flat!
I work on the right side of the desk and my girlfriend connects to the screen on the left when working from home. The black window-looking thing on the wall next to my desk is actually a fish tank. We've yet to get it all set up, but it should really cool when it's complete. I have a small but growing record collection, mostly film and game soundtracks and a few albums.
Of course, with more room to play with, I had to immediately fill some of it with gaming stuff! I recently upgraded my chair, so the one on the right here will be getting cleaned up and sold on soon. Our cat is going to miss it!
Well, that's it for now. Maybe when the fish tank is set up I will share a few more pictures. I have some LEDs behind the desk, and the ledge of the skylight is also lined with LEDs, which produces a great effect at night but I don't have any good pictures yet - something for next time!
